Veer Selected As Finalist for Early Career Investigator Award

Veer Sangha was selected as a finalist for the Quality of Care Outcomes and Research (QCOR) Early Career Investigator Award. The Council on Quality of Care and Outcomes Research recognizes and awards early career investigator members for their scientific contributions in the field of cardiovascular outcomes research. As the only undergraduate trainee, Veer presented his work at QCOR Scientific Sessions, 2021.

The study he presented evaluated patterns of prescription of sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors among Medicare beneficiaries. The study identified low uptake of these medications among prescribers compared with other established therapies and discovered factors associated with their underutilization. The work was simultaneously published in Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes.
