New CarDS Lab members: This summer, we welcomed 4 new team members!

Sina Mohammadi

Sina is a Data Scientist at the CarDS Lab. He earned both his PhD and MS in Computational and Data Sciences from Chapman University in California. During his PhD, he focused on developing computational methods for medical image analysis, specializing in Graph Learning methods, as well as Variational and PDE-based approaches.

At the CarDS, his research interests include applying Large Language Models (LLMs) and image processing techniques to cardiology data. In his free time, Sina enjoys playing chess.

Madeleine Carter

Madeleine (she/her) graduated from Fairfield University in the Class of 2023, where she studied behavioral neuroscience and global health. She has worked in research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Fairfield University, and DMR Research. She is dedicated to building new research interventions to promote individual and community care. Maddie is excited to continue her mission of learning and developing health initiatives through her work at the Yale Cards Lab before she attends medical school. Aside from research, Maddie enjoys rowing and reading.

Mariam Khan

Mariam (she/her) is a recent graduate of Yale University, where she studied molecular biology and the medical humanities. Her academic journey was shaped by a strong commitment to community health and health policy, leading her to engage in legislative advocacy and ultimately run for public office. As an aspiring physician, Mariam hopes to make healthcare more equitable and empowering for communities. In her free time, she enjoys calligraphy and spending time with her family.

Caitlin Malicki, MPH

Caitlin Malicki, MPH, is a project manager and public health researcher with more than 16 years of experience in clinical trials development, implementation and management at the Yale School of Medicine and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She received her Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology from the Boston University School of Public Health and her Bachelor of Science in Health Policy and Management from Providence College.

Caitlin joins the lab from the Yale Department of Emergency Medicine, where she has led a variety of research projects related to cardiovascular disease, substance use disorders and COVID-19 for the past decade. She looks forward to drawing on her experience to help implement and drive forward research efforts together with the CarDS Lab team.
