Sumukh got his Bachelor’s of Engineering in Information Science and Engineering from The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore. During his undergrad, he worked in a couple of startups and at FICO in a variety of software and AI roles. He also served as the Student Branch Networking Coordinator, Digital Design Lead, and Student Activities Committee Coordinator (2018-2020) for the NIE IEEE Student Branch.

After his Bachelor’s, Sumukh joined Northeastern University, Boston, to pursue his Master’s in Data Science. At Northeastern, Sumukh has worked as a Data Science Engineer in a political science laboratory, as a Research Assistant at the Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute, as a Data Engineering Intern at Walmart, as a Research Fellow at the Geometric Lab, and also served as a Career Peer Advisor for the Khoury Network. Upon graduation, he won the 2023 Graduate Student Award for his research.

His research interests include Machine Learning and Deep Learning for various domains. In his free time, Sumukh likes to read books, play the guitar or the piano, and go on long walks.
