Philip Croon

MD/PhD Student

Philip Croon is a medical doctor and data scientist driven by a passion for utilising technology to improve patient care. He is currently a post-graduate researcher at the Cardiovascular Data Science Lab (CarDS-Lab), where his work centers on the integration of artificial intelligence in cardiology practice. Philip graduated with a Master of Medicine degree (cum laude) from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and is pursuing a PhD in cardiology, focusing on the implementation and evaluation of AI-powered solutions in clinical practice.

As an entrepreneur, Philip founded two companies, MediMaat B.V. and DGTL Health B.V., where he served as CEO. Under his leadership, both companies achieved remarkable success and were acquired after reaching key milestones. Notably, through DGTL Health, Philip led the delivery of 60,000 Holter readings and reports across multiple European countries using advanced AI technologies.

Combining his clinical background with expertise in data science and healthcare innovation, Philip is now advancing his research at the CarDS-Lab. His current focus is on optimizing and deploying AI-ECG solutions to enhance cardiology practice and improve patient outcomes.
