Smartwatches and wearable devices equipped with novel sensors can provide real-time insights into the users’ health. These continuous streams of data can bear signatures of cardiovascular diseases and their risk factors, with important clinical implications for improving care. Understanding these patterns and signatures will increasingly pave the way to personalized medicine, enabling doctors to offer tailored recommendations to their patients based on their wearable and health data.

We, at the Cardiovascular Data Science (CarDS) Lab, are using state-of-the-art machine learning strategies and statistical methods to analyze the data obtained from smartwatches and wearables. These studies represent the next generation of clinical research, allowing us to better understand how these devices can be used to improve diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic strategies in cardiovascular medicine.

Our mission is to translate this research into clinical practice and improve cardiovascular care for patients. Find out below how you can be a part of this mission and participate in the leading edge of clinical research.
